ヘビロテ

the music you listen to while on a journey such as this
is one of the most important aspects of creating lasting sentiment...
(in the iPod age, anyway)
it hasn't even been a month yet but here is my current
playlist of music that has already given me a 'holy-shit-i-live-in-japan'
sort of feeling. some of this music has been around for a long time and just starting to hit me the right way, while some of it i've discovered while being here in japan.
of course, this is all subject to change, as i'm sure it will.
but 'ere goes:

hitoribocchino - sakamoto kyu
transportation theme - savath y savalas
drop dub - king tubby
this unfolds - four tet
run - vampire weekend (didn't think it would happen but i'm enjoying their new disc, sans the first track...)

blame it on cain - elvis costello
the caves of altimira - steely dan

plastic people - four tet
fly - cornelius
zebra - beach house
great day today (four tet remix) - madvillian

diplomat's son - vampire weekend
feel it all around - washed out
counterpoint - delphic
mr. chin - king tubby vs. lee 'scratch' perry
mogu mogu - chinza dopeness
miagete - kyu sakamoto
star fruits surf rider - cornelius
button - shugo tokumaru
kitten's breaks - hnc
giving up the gun - vampire weekend ("your sword's grown old and rusty/burnt beneath the rising sun...")
they're blind - the replacements
