also also, my host dad brought us to his favorite place for dinner,
which was basically old country buffet, japan style.
but with actually good food.
each table had a grill built into it (yaki niku), so part of the buffet line
was plates and plates of various raw meats and fishes and pig tongues and
mini octopi, which you took back to the table and grilled yerself.
super sick. since it was a buffet, and im in japan, we made a battle out of it.
my results:
2 bowls of miso soup
3 bowls of white rice
1 baby octopus
4 pig tongues
10 cuts of beef
6 pieces of sashimi (sushi)
20-and-some-odd edamame
3 shrimp tempura guys
a cup of flan
1 red bean mochi
1 piece of honeydew
and some calpis milk water to wash it all down

i didn't win.
